Sound , can we meet at a junction on the M1 and leave one car behind ?

Think we're all dodging in the dark , PU can't bee that bad otherwise it would be out of business, and as yet no ones seen LFU2 . we need ot inspect some sites .

Dave, don't go , it's worrying not having Steve here, but at least you know the Pheonix crowd.

BTW simple maths says

Rich - Grogan IS in it for the money - it's his means of income over the mining pension. As I said before, it's not his hobby (any more) it is his business along with his business partner (to whom it is a second income stream).

Grogan based the figure on 60 players x

None of us will take the financial burden, clearly.

We can negotiate whatever we like - when there is something to negotiate about, until then it's academic!

Okay... looks like we're pretty much in agreement as far as money matters go. Thats a very good thing!

We just have to make Grogan understand how we want it to work and that its probably in his best interests just to do it our way. Well... it is our way or the highway after all ;)

I was thinking... we do get too few players for the date then it may still be possible to do an event at F&O in an emergency... I'm pretty sure Gucci would be up for that. No need to mention it yet though.

Dave it would be good to get you down to the meeting... but I know Jay was pretty desperate to have someone to go down to UA with...

Guy... There's nowhere I would feel safe parking my car near a motorway junction... However my house is in one of the lowest crime areas of chesterfield... It just seems a shame to have both of us driving down the M1... but whatever...

Also, I was thinking about maybe inviting Major along to the meeting, he has offered his help in such things... He doesn't live out of the way...

By all means invite Major along.

I'll stock up on teabags.

Okay... meeting went well.

Myself, Gadge and Guy in attendance.

We agreed that we would do Arnhem at Phoenix in April after a site visit next weekend to check the site over... Me and Gadge will walk round the site at some point in the day.

We need to talk to Grogan and make sure he understands that we want to deal with this in the same way we did at F&O. Decide an appropriate price and find the min and max number of players that we can handle. Then add a bit onto his price (

Yep all very constructive . :D

We also had a brief discussion about the 24 hourer. More of this will be confirmed after my meet with them next week . The flavour of the game will be very much milsim / RPG/ reenactment and by definition smaller, but we'll look more into this after we've got Arnhem underway .

Hopefully we'll be able to deal with PU in the same way we dealt with Gucci , as that was pretty successful .

& still found time for three pints and some Chindit talk!

LFU2 is opening on the 28th Jan... typical! Same day as stoneleigh... I can't beleive I'm missing the first event!

Booking thread with pictures showing the site layout...

Orky and me will be at LFU Guy.

On a different note:
I have done some generic CiA 'business' cards for us to hand out to interested parties, wherever we go - a few times I have been chatting to folk, they express an interest, you tell 'em the webby address and of course two seconds later it's forgotten.
These are non-event specific so shouldn't have a problem discreetly handing them out.

Cool, does it say "Sturmbannfuhrer Chomley"
you'll have to make sure you keep them seperate to your normal cards to avoid that "awkward" business moment

Okay happy with the site. Me and Gadge had a walk around everywhere and have thought of several ways that the game can be played. Loads of interesting ideas. (Who wants to play Model?)

We also had a long chat with Geoff and found him quite open to discussion of the H&S issues, usage of their vehicles and remote pyro kit.

We may want some magnetic german tank markings to go on the transit an a big german flag to attach to the bonnet of their car... heh...

Dave, if you can contact Grogan and get us booked in for the 22nd then that would be great. As soon as you give the go-ahead then I'll open forums, etc...

This will still initially be a Brit vs German only event.

BTW had a long chat with Jay Sladen about british kit for the event, I will be buying him stuff at stoneleigh in fact... I think considering he is usually good at leadership that he should be at the very least in control of a squad, maybe more.
